User passwords zombie game DayZ forum stolen

From an email from Bohemia Interactive, the developer of zombie game DayZ, it appears that the game’s forum has been hacked. According to the publisher, all user names, email addresses and passwords of forum downloaded by hackers.

DayZ In the e-mail says Bohemia that the passwords were not stored as plain text, but in a more secure form. Presumably the hashed passwords so. The developer recommends users of forums.dayzgame.com who also use the same password for other services to change their password.

According Bohemia is the theft of the data, the result of a recent security incident. To prevent this in the future, the IPBoard-login system replaced within two weeks by Bohemia account. According to the developer is that a purpose-built service is already used by Bohemia Interactive Forums and Store. Until the service is adapted to make use of the new login system the forum will not be available.

On January 23, Bohemia had already announced that its forums had been the target of attack. When was advised to change passwords for security. DayZ itself was on February 4 also temporarily off the air to enhance security.
