Users complain about OneDrive-ads – Microsoft puts promotion scout W10

Microsoft has begun in the Windows 10 Explorer placing advertising for paid OneDrive storage. Windows 10 users complain about the practice. Microsoft speaks of “tip notifications” that would help users.

Several Reddit users complain about the notification which they were presented in the explorer of Windows 10. Not every Windows 10 user is given, however this. The promotion is top of the window to the Quick Access view, and alerts users to a variety of 1TB storage with OneDrive for $ 7 per month for an Office 365 subscription. The complainants point out inter alia that they get to see advertisements while they all fall an Office 365 subscription.

Also, Windows watcher Paul Thurrot complains over the practice. “The Explorer is the Windows 10 shell, it is a basic component of the operating system. It’s Windows,” he says. According to him advertising by Creators Windows Update 10, Windows Insiders testers can already use now, but Microsoft this also shows with regular versions, according to a survey of Tweakers. Notifications if they are to turn off, turn off the folder options under “View” select “Show sync provider notifications.

It is not the first time Microsoft is under fire because of the flashy promote its own services. Many Windows users complained about the intrusive way the company suggested them to switch to Windows 10. Within its operating system Microsoft Edge slide popups forward with claims about the benefits of this browser compared with Chrome and Firefox.
