Valve adds fps counter to Steam Client Beta

Valve has in the last update to the beta client Steam added an FPS counter. Further made the online game platform known that the record of number of users active on Steam is broken, and now stands at over 8.5 million users.

Valve Friday rolled his most recent update for the Steam Client Beta, in which the addition of a frame-per-second counter is the most important feature. The update was also focused on the improvement and optimization of various components of the client. It is not clear whether the fps counter also works with Mantle, or just with DirectX. The popular capturing program Fraps working example only with DirectX and not with Mantle, making the fps counter that program is not usable for games that use the API from AMD.

Rolling out the new update is not the only news that Steam announced. The service also informs that a new record is set to the number of users that are active on the game platform. On January 1, that number was about 8.4 million people around while on January 4, the limit of 8.5 million users were broken , as can be seen on the stats page Steam itself maintains.
