Find a Question:
VBulletin forum software engineer has been hacked
The forum vBulletin forum software developer is the last weekend hacked. According to reports on the Web, the perpetrator has won the details of nearly half a million users of the forum. Among them were sitting email addresses and secret questions and answers.
The alleged perpetrator, Coldzer0 would be a man named Mohamed Osama, a malware analyst in Dubai. According to information gathering from Databreaches.netCyber_War_News and he has several ways claimed responsibility for the hack, but he has subsequently been reports of erasing it. So he would have put a video on YouTube in which he has recorded the hack and he would also have communicated on Facebook with proof that he is behind the hack. According to a tweet from a security expert at Microsoft would amount to nearly 500,000 accounts.
Forum Administrator vBulletin itself has released nothing about the situation. At the time of writing, the website offline but leaves the company nothing loose on Twitter. Earlier vBulletin forum index page would be replaced by the text “Hacked By Coldzer0 ‘, but that is certainly not true anymore.
The vBulletin forum runs on version 5 of the software. It is currently unclear whether this means that all five vBulletin forums are vulnerable, but it is not excluded. It is not clear exactly how Osama got access to the servers of vBulletin, but are screenshots from it can be seen that he has been able to gain shell access rules and freely through the folders on the system could browse. For users of the vBulletin forum it is advisable to change their passwords there and verify whether they are using the same combination of secret question and answer elsewhere. In 2013 vBulletin was also victim of a hack.
Osama says facingCyber_War_News he committed the same hack at the forums of Foxit Corporation. There he would have captured the information of 260,000 accounts. However, this forum is still online and there is no further confirmation of a hack in that case.Viewing:-350
