Video footage showing unreleased game Call of Duty: Roman Wars

There are images which appeared a very early version of Call of Duty: demonstrate Roman Wars. It is a demo for a game that was created by Vicarious Visions in 2008, which was pitched at Activision. The publisher decided not to proceed with the game.

The unreleased Call of Duty game was discovered by Games Radar. The website has won sculptures and has spoken with a developer who worked on the project. Roman Wars was a concept that was created after Activision had asked several studios to make a pitch for a new game in the Call of Duty series.

Vicarious Visions is the studio that was responsible for Roman Wars. The studio was bought by Activision in 2005 and, in particular on Skylander games since 2010. Call of Duty: Roman Wars should have been contains gameplay in both the third person and first-person action game. The video shows a Gears of War-like angle, which is meegekeken over the shoulder of a Roman soldier.

Wars novel revolves around the Tenth Legion of Julius Caesar, which is described by the creators of the game as “Spec Ops that age.” The studio made one demo level to pitch the Game publisher Activision. The game mostly takes place in third-person-view, but a gladiator battle takes place in the first person.

The plan was to develop on the Xbox 360 Roman Wars, but there should also appear versions for the PS3 and PC. The goal was to release the game around 2013. This also could be a launch title for the Xbox One and PS4.

According to Games Radar kicked the game to the extent that the CEO of Activision myself watched. Eventually, the publisher decided not to proceed with the game. There was doubt about connecting the Call of Duty name to such a game. Later, the demo is also pitched at Ubisoft called ‘Roman Wars, without Call of Duty addition. However, the game was never released.
