Video games make us more alert

Often you hear that video games is a waste of time. But according to recent studies – has once again proven that it is not. Those hours that players spend on their favorite activity, actually have a real benefit: these people are literally starting to see the real world around them differently. And leave your skepticism about the fact that the game can only lead to antisocial behavior .

In the American scientific journal «Attention, Perception and Psychophysics» published an article which states that a group of scientists from Duke University found that the vision of the gamers are better than other people: the players collect and store visual information much more efficiently.

Scientists suggest that playing video games, among other things, people train their brain at a faster and more effective response and assess their environment. Professor Greg Appelbaum of the Duke School of Medicine concludes a study of his colleagues:

“Gamers see the world differently. They are able to recognize and absorb more information in the framework of a specific visual images. ”

As described on the official website of Duke University, scientists came to this conclusion after enlisted the help of 125 volunteers. Among them were people who almost never played (and playing) video games, as well as those who spend doing this for a few hours each day.

Volunteers were asked to perform several tasks, which scientists would test their response to visual perception. As a result, tests revealed that gamers will get your job done much more efficiently than ordinary people do not play, and it did not really something and concentrating.

After a relatively short period of time, all volunteers still forget that they had shown scientists. However, researchers have focused on the fact that it was originally a group of players could see more information in the assigned tests than those who do not play games.
