VK is considering providing new homes with charging points for electric cars

The British government has issued a report in which a plan is considered to be mandatory to install a charging point for each new house to be built, insofar as the location and other circumstances permit.

It is not only new, suitable houses that are required to have a charging point ; All new street lights must also be equipped with this, provided the location permits and there is parking on the street. To make this possible, the British Ministry of Transport is building an investment fund of around 450 million euros. In addition, a maximum of 563 million euros will be available for existing homeowners and companies to install charging points. With this, the government hopes to stimulate driving with electric cars.

This plan is part of the British government’s aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 80 percent by 2050 compared to the situation in 1990. In total, around 1.7 billion euros will be allocated for measures up to 2020 to accomplish this, where the installation of the extra charging points is part of. In 2040 there will also be a ban on the sale of cars running on petrol or diesel .
