Vlog: On the mountain temple in Taipei
Although Taipei is a technology hotbed, but the people there have not forgotten the tradition and therefore we find here with huge skyscrapers and ultra-modern subway again and again numerous temples and monuments. Incidentally, this is what fascinates me in Taipei, but also other Asian cities over again. In this vlog I visit the Zhinan temple, situated on the slopes of Houshan (translated: Monkey Mountain) is located.
The Taoist temple was built in 1882 and is dedicated Dongbin, which belongs to the group of the eight immortals of Chinese mythology and sacred Daoism. To the temple is best reached with the Maokong nacelles that are located near the Taipei Zoo. The gondolas themselves are already an attraction and I would recommend anyone to choose a gondola with glass bottom, it costs little more and you can see how high you are on the go. From there you have a great view of the city and the Taipei 101 (see my video) in good weather. At the penultimate station you get off of if you want to Zhinan temple. If you ride through to the last station to the very top, you expect tea houses with great views, especially the evening! The € 1.30 each way are well spent in any case, every time I’m in Taipei, I drive up there! Check out my vlog and happy can you leave your opinion in the comments if that also what would be for you.
