Vodafone activates HD Voice in all 3G network

Vodafone has HD Voice, which allows users to call with a higher sound quality, capitalized on its entire network. The better sound quality is only available when customers call other Vodafone customers.

Vodafone was planning to activate HD Voice on its entire network was already known , but the provider did not want to say when that would happen. The company tested the functionality for some time in South Limburg. Who calls via the 3G network and a recent smartphone, automatically dials with better sound quality, if the caller has Vodafone and support for HD Voice. “But we plan to also support as customers with another provider to call it,” said Bart Bakker Vodafone.

HD Voice is the commercial name for adaptive multi-rate wide band, in which a larger part of the noise spectrum is used for transmission of sound. Conversations with HD Voice should happen naturally and the caller would ‘closer’ to sound. Also, noise is reduced.

Vodafone is the second provider that HD Voice nationwide check: KPN doing that for several years. T-Mobile does present a large-scale test, but has better sound quality is not yet activated nationwide.
