Vodafone starts paid live TV service for mobile subscribers
Vodafone mobile subscribers can watch live TV via the TV Anywhere app. That makes the carrier announced Thursday. All subscribers Red- or Smart subscription get the option for 4.95 euros per month.
With TV Anywhere customers can view twelve channels, namely NPO 1, 2 and 3, RTL 4, 5, 7, 8 and 9 and SBS 6, Veronica, Fox and Xite. Watching TV works over 3G, 4G and WiFi. It does not matter whether users are on their own Wi-Fi network or anywhere else.
Users can add accounts of Twitter and Facebook, and then share issues or ‘like’. Liking That does not happen on Facebook, but the app itself. When a user time on TV has a dreamlike, then friends can watch the clip in the app.
Users can specify in the settings how high the quality should be: Low, Normal, High and HD, respectively 150, 300, 1500 and 2500kbit / s. The app does not automatically scales the quality as the stream running through a 3G or 4G connection. However, the application warns the user starts a stream via a mobile connection. The streams run through the regular Internet and not via TV standard LTE Broadcast.
The app is since last week in the App Store and Play Store as an update for Vodafone TV. Log goes through a regular My Vodafone account. The service is also available to customers of Vodafone Home. Then the option is free and there are also seventeen stations available.Viewing:-92
