Volkswagen wants to make more electric cars and cheap models in the coming years
German car manufacturer Volkswagen wants to produce significantly more electric cars in the coming years than originally planned. In addition, the company states that a relatively cheap model of around 20,000 euros will also come out.

Christian Senger, the boss of Volkswagens part responsible for the production of electric cars, said during an event in Dresden that his company is expected to produce 15 million electric cars in the coming years, writes Bloomberg . According to Senger, that is an increase of fifty percent compared to a previous target. This is the first wave of electric cars that the German company will release.

The Volkswagen brand will invest around 9 billion euros to bring 20 different electric models to the market by 2025. According to Senger, there is also a model that will cost around twenty thousand euros. Michael Jost, the chief strategist at Volkswagen, said earlier that in 2023 or 2024 an electric car with the dimensions of the T-Roc should come out for less than 20,000 euros.

A week ago, another manufacturer’s CEO announced that up to 2024 a total of 44 billion euros will be invested in electric cars, autonomous driving technology and mobility services. However, the double amount will still go to existing drive technology. There is also the necessary money to new factories or the conversion of existing ones. This is done so that by 2022 electric cars will be made at eight different locations.
