Volvo comes with the first electric car in 2019




The Swedish automaker Volvo from 2019 will sell fully electric cars. Before that happens, the company will be a series of smaller, making electrified cars are not for sale. In the meantime, all existing models also get a hybrid model on the market.

It writes Volvo in a notice on its website. The expression comes after electrify the audience making the strategy of the company. Part of the strategy is that there will be hybrid versions of the 90- and 60-series. The first car that becomes available, the XC90 is a T8 Twin-Engine with an electric motor and a two-liter petrol engine. Later followed by other 90- and 60 models. The electric motor will drive the rear wheels in these embodiments, while the gasoline engine drives the front wheels. The technique is based on a modular system that Volvo calls Scalable Product Architecture.
