Wargaming announced remake Master of Orion




Wargaming has released a new version of Master of Orion into production. It is a remake of a strategic game of MicroProse in 1993. It is made by the Argentine developer NGD Studios and get ‘4X gameplay.

Wargaming “goes back to his roots, announces the Belarusian publisher to. The publisher is best known for World of Tanks, but also brought you the turn-based strategy game Massive Assault on the market, which appeared in 2003. In Master of Orion grabs it even further; it is a remake of a classic of MicroProse. Master of Orion released in 1993 for MS-DOS and Mac OS and was the first game where the 4x definition was used, which stands for explore, expand, exploit and exterminate. Wargaming took the rights to the classic Atari 2013 on.

The 4X genre would be mainly made popular by games like Sid Meier’s Civilization. In Master of Orion starts the player with a small fleet of spaceships, with the goal to expand the fleet and become the most dominant civilization in space. Players can choose from thirteen playable races, each with its own private consultants, racial advantages, technologies and spaceships. The game features more than one hundred twenty solar systems and planets to visit.

Wargaming has a variety of studios, but for Master of Orion enlisted the help of the Argentine NGD Studios, which is best known for mmog Regnum Online. In the development of Master of Orion, the studio would get help from several members of the team the original game made by MicroProse. The publisher is not known for what platforms the game will appear. A version for Windows is obvious, but nothing is known about other platforms. Wargaming also does not let go when the game appears on the market and what is the business model. The publisher has become especially great with free playable games.
