Ubisoft did not even wait until E3 began. Already in the week before the big game exhibition publisher Watchdogs unveiled 2. The first part was mainly remembered for its graphics, which is not the quality that could make that Ubisoft promised at E3 earlier grants. Perhaps that was why the publisher chose not again a revelation on the big stage. Instead, it got so public worldwide for the E3 already seen gameplay of the second part in the series.

At first glance, the announcement of the second part is a bold step. The discussion around the first Watchdogs was not only just about ‘graphics gate. The game turned out to be quite repetitive and was guilty of a typical Ubisoft disease: too many gameplay elements are used which are also already in other Ubisoft games. Watchdogs proved the beginning of the ‘end’ in this area: Far Cry: Primal succumbed to the same criticism, and Ubisoft was also aware that the Assassin’s Creed series would no longer be provided with a new game every year. This shows that the French publisher the problem also began to get in his sights itself. So? So Ubisoft Montreal promised with Watchdogs 2 already to throw a very different tack

The first thing that strikes in Watch Dogs 2 is the change in town. Not that Chicago is annoying to walk around, but San Francisco has something more “magic.” If the creators of the city really have recreated realistic, you should also regularly seen hanging fog, but otherwise the city under the California sun beautiful to look at. Of course, all major landmarks are present. From the start of the E3 playable demo at the Coit Tower, we see the Golden Gate, the Oakland Bridge and Twin Peaks. Further inspection of the in-game map shows that other known elements, such as Lombard Street, and the AT & T Park baseball team San Francisco Giants are present, already called the team in the game, of course, different. Also nice is that the game does not stop at the borders of the city. Silicon Valley is in the game, and you can visit the areas across the bridges.

One of those areas, Oakland, is also where the new protagonist of the game originates. Aiden Pearce, the main character in part one, does not return in this game – or at least not as a playable character. Marcus Holloway took his place. As Pearce Holloway is more than handy with smartphones and computers. so expect at this stage to much of the same tricks that you might know from the previous section. Holloway can therefore affect traffic and use a variety of computer-based business in the city in his favor. That arsenal is in Watch Dogs 2 expanded to all kinds of new tricks, but the idea remains the same course.
