Website ABN Amro showed temporary page bitcoinwallet
ABN Amro has temporarily been a page online where customers could indicate whether they are interested in a bitcoinwallet managed within the secure environment of the bank. The web page has been taken offline.
According to spokesman Ariën Bikker of the bank, it is a project that the Innovation Centre of ABN Amro few years ago was doing, but that meanwhile stop long put. How it is that the page suddenly appeared online, the bank is still investigating.
On the ABN Amro hurried over to follow developments in bitcoin and examined the bank or the need for a bitcoinwallet managed by the bank to do bitcointransacties. The transactions would clearly have to appear alongside traditional banking. A bitcoinwallet the bank has never been available.
ABN AMRO reserves still doing research on block chain technology , but not at all more with bitcoin, says Bikker. The bank is among others in the Hyper Ledger project and investor in Digital Asset Holdings. ABN Amro is not the only bank that deals with block chain technology.
