iOS numbered 12.2, which began testing on the evening of January 24, was the first functional update of Apple’s mobile OS in 2019. Most of the innovations, which includes the update, are very minor and only expand the range of action of already available functions, without pretending to any exclusivity. AppleInsider.ru presents to your attention a selection of all the changes that occurred in the first beta version of iOS 12.2.

In total, we counted 10 innovations, but we fully admit that we could have missed something, and therefore we will be happy if you indicate this in the comments.

iOS 12.2 – major innovations
Apple News has officially earned in Canada with English and French speaking news sources;
HomeKit has added support for compatible TVs (Samsung, LG, Sony, Vizion) and the corresponding interface for their control;
In iOS 12.2, Apple reworked the appearance of the TV control panel at the Control Point, now it opens to full screen and looks more streamlined;
In the Control Point, the icon for the “Repeat Screen” function has changed, which now looks like two superimposed displays, rather than a display with an arrow;

The interface of the Wallet application was slightly reworked: the Info and Done keys were moved to the bottom of the screen and turned blue, and the transaction information became more detailed;
The Add money button appeared in the Apple Pay Cash wallet with the ability to quickly add money;

New AirPlay badge;
In Safari appeared search arrows, clicking on which allows you to refine the query;

Safari has a warning about logging in to sites that are not protected by the HTTPS standard;

In the Maps application, the air quality display function has appeared.

AirPods 2

The list of updates, frankly, not too remarkable, but iOS 12.2 was able to confirm that Apple is working on the second generation of AirPods wireless headphones. The new model will certainly receive support from the Hi, Siri team, and the release of the update itself will most likely take place in early spring of 2019 and will coincide with Apple’s March presentation, which will include, among other things, the updated iPad 9.7 and iPad Mini.
