WhatsApp has 900 million monthly users




WhatsApp has reached the number of 900 million monthly users. If the present growth, the instant messaging service reaches six months the number of 1 billion. Despite increased competition, the growth seems not out yet.

The head of WhatsApp, Jan Koum, announced the removal of the limit of 900 million monthly users on Facebook, where he receives congratulations from Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg. After WhatsApp by Facebook was acquired in February 2014, many users it threatened to leave the instant messaging service, but the growth rates that effect unobservable.

WhatsApp reached in April, the number of 800 million, and six months later, the department notes, therefore 100 million. With this growth is the service for another six months at one billion monthly users, although growth has fluctuated in the past. WhatsApp calls active as a user who has sent at least one message in the past month. It is not clear whether there is a distinction in terms of the growth region and is also unknown how users are active. WhatsApp is facing increased competition from other Telegram, but many users probably have multiple messengers on their device.
