Wikimedia” edit Wikipedia via mobile devices




The number of mobile encyclopedia browser constitutes 15% of the total users.

The Wikimedia Foundation announced “running of the encyclopedia” Wikipedia “, Thursday announced the launch of support to edit the encyclopedia content on mobile devices.

The Foundation said in a publication on her blog, the main objective of the new version of the encyclopedia “Wikipedia” on portable devices that support content editing, is to create a quick and intuitive editing experience to new and experienced users alike, while maintaining the principle of editing the descriptive method, adding also that the beginning was simple to control users ‘ needs and expectations.

“Wikimedia” revealed the reason behind the move, as the number of users who browse the encyclopedia through mobile devices is 15% of the total users, so this feature to allow to anyone who owns an Internet connection to contribute to the outcome of human knowledge, the Foundation said.

And only users who have an account with “Wikipedia” take advantage of this feature, to show them when you sign in to the encyclopedia through mobile devices and the desktop version, the “pencil” icon next to any section, when you click them they can make the changes you want.

The “Wikimedia” Foundation had announced in April the number of visitors to access their projects to more than 500 million per month.
