Wikipedia cooperates with Internet Archive to maintain sources




Members of the Internet Archive work with the Wikimedia Foundation to refer dead links on Wikipedia to copies at the Wayback Machine. With automated software are already more than a million left on the English Wikipedia redirected.

The software scans every link on Wikipedia or leading even to an existing page. If the software encounters a 404 code, which changes the link to a copy at the Wayback Machine Internet Archive. At left is mentioned on Wikipedia that it is a page from the Internet Archive.
