“I think, Google Glass undoubtedly shocked the industry and brought to the attention of people that can do more in the health sector and others,” – says David Marimon, CEO Catchoom – the company which deals with image recognition and augmented reality. – “Another thing is that in the next five years a major player like Google or Apple will find convincing arguments in favor of consumers. And if that happens, consumers will take it faster than industry professionals. ”

With Project Glass Google tries to introduce a new type of mass-wearable, informative and life-changing devices for consumers. Apple did not attempt to do the same, but it is possible that the company is experimenting with augmented reality behind the scenes.

Marimon recognized that another major player in the field of technology, Sony, has already tried her hand in the area of ​​consumer augmented reality applications through portable game system PS Vita. Nintendo did the same with the Nintendo 3DS, but neither company provided headset, which will fundamentally change the way people think.

By far one of the most promising options was the prototype points from Meta, a small company in Silicon Valley. The company promises to provide an exciting holographic experience, but it will cost money. Pro Edition is worth 3650 dollars. In July, when the consumer will start shipping points, they will cost 667 dollars.

Rather than develop their own augmented reality glasses, Catchoom focused on development of the software. Last project of the company is called CraftAR, which the company describes as “the ultimate set of tools augmented reality.”

“In normal augmented reality, the user must be in the center, and we need to show him the true value of augmented reality,” – explains Marimon. – “Whatever the experience, we have to provide valuable feedback and valuable results.
