The Windows 10 October 2018 Update is again distributed among users, but still contains certain problems. Microsoft states that users who use network drives may not be able to access them. There are workarounds .
Microsoft is distributing the latest major update for its os since November 13, but only among users who download it via the Media Creation Tool and who click on check for updates manually. On the same day, however, the US company publishes a support page , discovered by The Register , explaining that users may experience network disk problems after this update and how to bypass them. The manual solution consists of setting up two script files and having them executed each time a user logs in.
According to The Register, Microsoft was already aware of this problem with the update and so it has left it up, while the distribution of the update has resumed. The problem should not be solved until 2019, the site says.
The Windows 10 October 2018 Update, which lifts the OS to version 1809, showed a serious problem at the time of the first rollout . Users reported that the files in their personal Documents folder had disappeared. After this the update was paused . This problem has now been solved, according to Microsoft.
