WSJ: successor iPhone XR gets another LCD, but dual camera

According to the generally well-informed newspaper The Wall Street Journal, Apple is launching three iPhones again this year: two with OLED screens and one with LCD. For next year, the company is considering introducing three iPhones with OLED screen.

The successor to the iPhone XR is according to the newspaper again an LCD, but the model makes the transition from a single camera on the back to a dual camera. The iPhone XS gets an OLED screen and dual camera again, while the iPhone XS Max gets a triple camera.

The latter information corresponds to the renders that appeared this week from the possible design of the iPhone XS Max successor. They showed an excellent square at the back of the iPhone, in which three cameras were processed. These should ensure 3D sensing and improved optical zoom.

Striking with the message from the WSJ is that Apple may not provide 3D Touch support for the upcoming iPhones. In the current line-up this support is lacking only with the cheapest model, the iPhone XR.
