Xbox Fitness users lose access to videos they paid

Microsoft has announced it will close its service Xbox Fitness. The service, which is available on the Xbox One, contains in addition to free training programs for Xbox Live Gold members also paid video programs. Buyers of these videos can no longer view it from July 1, 2017.

Xbox Fitness was introduced along with the Xbox One in November 2013 and works with the Kinect camera. Microsoft has announced through a sunset announcement data that is going to stop the service. Immediately it is no longer possible to purchase Xbox Fitness paid content. As of December 15 applies the “Free with Gold ‘offer anymore. That is, after that Xbox Live Gold members no longer have access to the training programs.

On July 1, Microsoft closes the service next year’s final and removed all content from Xbox Fitness. Users who have paid for optional training programs, these videos still look up to June 30, 2017. Then they also lose access to all content from Xbox Fitness.

Users who have paid for the Xbox Fitness content doing their complaint under Microsoft’s announcement. Several people report that they amount paid, for example, 60 or 140 dollars on training programs. Microsoft has not indicated it wants to compensate the customer for such expenditure. Some users report no compensation at all to receive, but to want to continue to use what they have paid for.

Microsoft has not explained why the company stops Xbox Fitness. Presumably there is little interest in the service . Fitness uses the Kinect motion controller. Originally, Microsoft planned to supply all Xbox One consoles with Kinect, but after a lot of comments from gamers, the company saw from and found a cheaper version without Kinect. When recently presented Xbox One S is missing the possibility to connect the Kinect camera and requires an additional accessory to connect Kinect.
