Xiaomi makes Redmi Note 3 variant with Snapdragon 650-soc
Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has created a new variant of its Redmi Note 3. The Redmi Note 3 Snapdragon Version uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650-soc instead of MediaTek Helio X10.
The Redmi Note 3 Snapdragon Version is available in two models, one with 2GB lpddr3 memory and one with 3GB RAM. The model with 2GB ram comes with 16GB of storage, the 3GB RAM model gets 32GB of storage. The Snapdragon Version is a variant of the presented in November Redmi Note 3.
The smartphone supports in the Netherlands and Belgium only 4G on the 1800MHz and 2600MHz bands, not the 800MHz band KPN, Vodafone and Tele2 and the 900MHz-band T-Mobile. Although the modem into the soc 4g + supports users in the Netherlands, there can hardly use. The absence of the 800 MHz frequency for 4G is also an obstacle for Belgian users. All Belgian providers use that band.
Qualcomm had already announced in December that the Snapdragon 650 from the beginning of 2016 would be used in smartphones and Xiaomi one of the first to do so also. The 650 is the renamed Snapdragon 618-soc. The 650 is a hexacore with four Cortex A53 cores and two A72 cores and features an Adreno 510 GPU.
The price for the 16GB model of the Note 3 Snapdragon is 999 yuan, converted approximately 140 euros. The 32GB model has Xiaomi yet announced any price. How many users will pay in the UK is unknown, but the price will probably be higher due to eg import duties.
