Xiaomi revises expansion to other countries




Chinese smartphone vendor Xiaomi has postponed its expansion to several other countries. The company set itself the goal to be present in ten countries by the end of 2014, but that is unattainable.

Xiaomi logo Xiaomi was founded in 2010 and was initially only active in China. However, the smartphone vendor is expanding. In 2014, India, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines added as markets, so writes Bloomberg. The aim was to at the end of the current calendar year to be active in ten countries, but that goal turned out to be too high.

The smartphone vendor wants to expand market by market. It is therefore in the coming year Brazil, Mexico, Russia, Thailand and Turkey are added as markets.

On the other hand, Xiaomi with Foxconn talk about promoting the production of its low-cost devices. Reportedly, there is discussion on the production of smartphones in India and Brazil. Indonesia could come to this.
