“Yahoo and Bing faced with downtime due to errors in code update ‘




The search engines Microsoft and Yahoo are Friday went offline because the former accidentally uploaded the wrong code, as sources have reported. Meanwhile, the search engines are already available.

Sources inside Yahoo have told Reuters said that no hackers, but a bad software update would be the cause of the downtime. Microsoft has rolled out new code for the Bing search engine, but then made sure that the website is no longer functioning. Because Microsoft’s Yahoo search engine provides search results, also struggled with this downtime.

Because Microsoft performed rollback not working both Bing and Yahoo have not been available for some time, according to Reuters. Meanwhile, both engines are already online, but there is no officially released information about what caused the downtime. On Friday, Yahoo and Bing went offline, while Microsoft’s Live.com, MSN and Outlook.com short time were not available.
