Yahoo Maps site and stops Pipes service




Yahoo will stop its Maps site plan and Pipes disappears, the data mashup tool that allows web elements could easily be combined for web apps. Furthermore, Yahoo will stop some services in European countries.

Yahoo pulls the plug out numerous services after a good look to have what are really important to the group, so writes Amotz Maimon, chief architect at Yahoo. The map site closes at the end of June, but the underlying map service remains in the air for include integration of the engine and Flickr. Yahoo Maps began eight years ago but never posed a threat to Google Maps, the most widely used map service.

Yahoo further stops Pipes . This is a tool to easily create web apps and publish by web elements, especially RSS feeds to combine. As of 30 August, no new Pipes are made anymore and the plug is pulled out of the infrastructure on 30 September.
