YouTube Adds The “Breaking News” Section To The Web Version And Its Mobile Application

The popular video sharing site YouTube has started testing a new section on the Web version and implementing it on mobile devices, offering users news-breaking videos, according to a number of users on the Internet.

“Most of the server-side updates to YouTube are fairly limited, but this latest release appears to be widespread,” he said.

Breaking news on YouTube’s homepage has appeared to many, including a series of videos about breaking news around the world.

The new “Breaking News” section shows 7 videos that can be navigated horizontally, and those videos are the same for users from a single geographic area. The user can hide this section by clicking the “x” button on the desktop, or choosing “Not interested” from the list shown above on mobile devices.

He pointed out, “Android POLICE” it is not yet clear whether YouTube will always rely on this section or will be limited to times when frequent breaking news.

The new YouTube update comes about three days after a report that the company is testing a new feature that allows users to know the number of viewers of a certain segment in real time.

Users said a server-side update in the YouTube app on Android had allowed them to see how many viewers were present for some clips, a feature that is believed to be a special task for channel owners.

YouTube is the most popular video sharing site in the world. In June, the company announced that the number of users signing in to the site per month was 1.5 billion, an estimated one billion in 2013.

The company says users logged on to the site spend about an hour a day watching, on mobile devices only.
