YouTube is experimenting with 60fps 4k videos

YouTube has begun trials to make videos in 4K resolution and a frame rate of 60fps playable. Previously could all video material with a 4k resolution and 60fps video to be uploaded to the platform, but that was not playable.

To the videos smoothly and be able to play native resolution is needed, appropriate hardware, such as a monitor that can display 3840×2160 pixels. Also, a fast Internet connection. Moreover, the range of 4K video with a frame rate of 60fps is still very limited: a playlist posted by YouTube developers on the video portal has only six videos. YouTube seems therefore still strongly want to experiment with such a video, for example, to determine which bitrates are most suitable.

Google in 2010 already introduced the possibility of 4K video upload , but this relates to video with frame rates of 25 or 30 frames per second. Since December 2013, such clips also played via the player of the video platform.
