Zeiss comes with Loxia 85mm f / 2.4 lens for Sony FE cameras

Zeiss is a fourth objective of the Loxia series for the Sony A7 cameras. The 85mm f / 2.4, according to the manufacturer an optical structure which is based on the classical Sonnar design, but is adapted to digital cameras.

The construction consists of seven lens elements in seven groups. There can be focused at a distance of 80cm. Like the other Loxia Zeiss lenses, the 85mm f / 2.4 has no autofocus. However, the lens has an electronic mount so exif data and information can be transmitted through the focusing distance to the camera.

The diaphragm serves as the focus to be set manually. The Loxia lenses have a de-click function that makes it possible to deactivate the mechanical click of the aperture ring. This is useful for videographers who want to adapt smoothly to the aperture while recording.

Zeiss provides the 85mm f / 2.4 with a metal housing and a filter thread of 52mm. The lens is sealed against dust and moisture, is 94,8mm long and weighs 594 grams. In mid-December comes the portrait lens, a retail price has not been disclosed yet.
