Zenwatch 2 Asus comes in two different sizes -update




Asus at Computex its next smart watch with Android Wear displayed. The Zenwatch 2 has a button on the side and is also more resistant to dust and water than its predecessor, thanks to a IP67-Certification.

For Zenwatch 2, which recently appeared in the Netherlands Zenwatch to follow, Asus has added a few things. Thus, the watch will appear in two sizes, with straps of 18mm and 22mm, and three colors, silver, gray and rose gold. Moreover, there is now a button on the right side of the case, which should give the impression of the crown of a regular watch. The resolution is 320×320 pixels for both versions with identical to the current model.

It is unclear what the battery capacity of the Zenwatch 2. The watch has a AMOLED screen with 2.5D finish, with no screen but the edges are curved. The resolution of the scberm remained the same compared to its predecessor. It runs on an unnamed Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm. Presumably it is a Snapdragon 400.

Asus has also for the watch made Watch Face app, which allows users to create their own watch faces. When Zenwatch 2 comes out and how much it will cost, is still unknown. Asus employees did indicate that only during or after IFA, an exhibition in September would be.

Update, 9:54: This article first said that the watch phone could charge, but that proved incorrect. Asus have confirmed to Tweakers it will probably be possible that the phone can charge the watch via USB on-the-go. Moreover, a cable with a magnetic connector is on one side and standard USB connector is provided on the other side, with which the telephone cradle without via, for example, a power bank can be recharged.
