Ziggo and UPC will share hotspotnetwork

UPC customers will soon be able to create networks of Ziggo, and vice versa. That is the result of the merger of the cable companies. When the ‘hotspot’ merger to be completed, is currently not yet known.

Ziggo Ziggo spokesman Erik Doeselaar request confirms that both networks are linked. “We started with the preparation thereof,” Van Doeselaar. “We already have a schedule, but unfortunately I can not share.” Customers will be notified when they can log on to the networks of other providers, he promises.

Last year bought the UPC’s parent company, Liberty Global, Ziggo investors. Both networks will be merged under the name of Ziggo. That the hotspot networks of both cable companies would be tied together, so was in line with expectations, but had not been announced yet. Hotspots modems customers to offer internet.

Mid April, the brand UPC disappear. Also the clients portals of the two cable companies will then be merged. How this will look like exactly, is not yet known. UPC users will have to use their new My Ziggo login to log on to the joint Wifi Spots functionality. Incidentally, some users can login with their existing UPC Ziggo already log into hotspots, but this is a temporary situation, Van Doeselaar emphasized.
