Ziggo deletes Xbox app and sees no bread in Windows application

Ziggo has decided not to bring an application two years ago announced for the Xbox 360. The cable company currently has no plans to Ziggo TV app also let Windows run and seems the arrival of a Windows Phone app uncertain.

In November 2012 Ziggo showed even know that it had concrete plans to come out with an Xbox 360 application so customers via the console to TV streams might look. Then it was a long silence, to the dissatisfaction of some Xbox gamers who were looking forward to the application. Ziggo had requested but time and again that it was unclear when the application would come, so sums up Xboxnederland.nl. Recently reported a Ziggo employee at Community forum Xbox app has been removed from the schedule. ”

Spokesman Erik Doeselaar confirms to Tweakers a moratorium developers are put on an Xbox application. The cable company, which has just merged with UPC would give provisional priority to improving existing products, such as the Ziggo TV app for iOS and Android.

For now there will also be no Windows application to view especially Ziggo streams on a laptop. According to Van Doeselaar there is little demand for such an application on the Windows operating system and is “the platform too small ‘for Ziggo.

Ziggo has also previously announced that it is working on a Windows Phone version of the Ziggo TV app. However, the status of this project remains vague; Ziggo spokesperson can currently say anything about this. This would seem to be little chance that Windows Phone users can expect a Ziggo application.
