Ziggo does not compensate for Internet problems after DDoS attack




Ziggo’s customers who were struggling with internet problems due to the DDoS attack not compensate, the company announced. The provider speaks of a special situation, making a compensation would not be in place.

Approximately 1.8 million customers of Ziggo struggled last week Tuesday and Wednesday a few hours with slow or not working internet but this they did not get any compensation. “It was an extraordinary situation that beyond our control failures occurred,” said Ziggo spokesman Erik Doeselaar against Tweakers.

“Here was blackmail, criminal activity. Compensation therefore seems out of place. We want to focus fully on making arrangements so that attacks like these not successful anymore. That takes time and money,” he gives as declaration.

Ziggo is also not required to provide compensation. Customers will not be entitled to compensation from a provider as a service 12 hours or more is not available due to a failure, given the government in 2013. Service providers can then opt for compensation in cash or kind, to all users or on request . Ziggo incidentally also says no request for this to have received from customers.
