Ziggo supports this summer 720p images in Horizon App

Sometime this summer Ziggo adds support for 720p images to the Horizon app. Images of at least forty of the hundreds of channels can be viewed in the HD resolution, it is not clear what the bitrate 720p resolution is accompanied.

Ziggo Now viewers can see only images in SD quality, but sometime this summer this will change, Ziggo says. Images can then be viewed in 720p; probably means a resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels.

Ziggo can however request not indicate directly with the bitrate the higher resolution is associated. It is also unclear if the higher resolution is introduced. “That will be sometime this summer, but I dare not say exactly when that will happen,” said Ziggo spokesman Erik Doeselaar.

Not all TV stations will be in 720p display. It is about forty channels, including major broadcasters as NPO 1, 2 and 3, RTL channels and SBS stations. Horizon app is available for Android and iOS.
