Zombiesurvivalgame DayZ has been sold four million times

While the game on Steam is still in the beta phase, the PC version of zombie survival game DayZ has been sold four million times. Developer Bohemia Interactive also announced that on Black Friday, November 23, a new preview version for the Xbox One appears.

The four millionth survivor in the post-apocalyptic world of Chernarus follows one week after a major update of the beta of DayZ . The engine went a long way and now supports functions such as base building and modding. There is also a more realistic simulation of vehicles. According to Bohemia Interactive, the game is on course for a release later this year.

All novelties of the latest PC beta, with the exception of modding support, will also be available on the Xbox One next week. It is not yet a real beta version, but according to the developer it is the most important update since DayZ appeared in the Xbox Game Preview catalog in August. The final version for Microsoft’s console is planned for early 2019, which will follow the Playstation 4 later in the year.

“It’s always nice to see how new players get started with DayZ, but what I think is equally important is that our existing community, after a pause, picks up the thread again,” said lead programmer Eugen Harton. “Dozens of community servers are accessible again and there is plenty of experimenting with early mods, the number of active players has doubled since the PC beta, while there is still a lot of key work on the game.”

The PC version of DayZ on Steam costs € 27.99. On the preview version for Xbox One there will be a 15 percent discount until November 26, bringing the price to 33.99 euros.
